This is a simple guide to show you how to bitstream all modern formats using SPDIF, HDMI, or an HDMI extractor (HDMI > Toslink), and Potplayer. Firstly, please note, nearly all receivers don't support more than Dolby Digital Live, or DTS Surround i
As soon as bitstreaming is enabled, Potplayer with both internal and LAV filter falls back to 16bit, 192kHz sound. When passthrough is disabled, output stays nicely at 24bit, but then processing is done inside of Windows instead of in the receiver.
How do you bitstream DTS in PotPlayer? PotPlayer is passing Dolby Digital and TrueHD through. My receiver is decoding them. But DTS and DTS-HD MA are not passing through. They are being treated like PCM.
I set up PotPlayer to bitstream AC3 audio to my TV via HDMI some time ago, but can't try configuring PotPlayer to bitstream DTS-HD MA because nothing I own can decode it.
